Dropping You a Line - Card Sketch A Day Challenge

I decided this a.m. to do a quick Card Sketch A Day Friday Friends Challenge. So I gathered my new stamps up and came up with this quick little card...I think I kind of "stretched" the sketch a little...but I think it followed it close enough!

Recipe:
  • Stamp: Sushi in a Bowl by Stampendous
  • Ink: Tim Holtz
  • Other: Stickles (In various colors), heart punch, printed sentiment off printer
  • Paper: My Stash

Cards for Kids Valentines

Well I've been a little slow on my blog here lately...we've finally gotten into the full swing of things at the barn and when you've been inactive for a couple of weeks and then go back to regular duties...well, you come home TIRED! LOL! A good tired, but tired none-the-less, so my stamping/scrapping/blogging has suffered a touch...ANYWAY...
We have also been dealing with ONE LAST CHRISTMAS...whew...and I can officially close CHRISTMAS for 2008...seems like we celebrated it for 2 months straight...it was fun, but I'm ready to move forward into 2009...it's seems funny to celebrate Christmas when I'm making VALENTINES! LOL!
Anyway, I did manage to sneak some stamping time in last night and found the CUTEST kitty on squigglefly.com, and not only was he cute, he was ON SALE! I decided he would be purrrfect for the Cards for Kids Valentines Drive that I signed on to do...he's easy to color and since he's a digital image, I printed him and a few sayings I made up, right off my printer and went to town coloring them in while relaxing in "the" chair last night. These are super simple, but since I'm doing mass quantities of these I wanted to keep them quick...recipe is below...
Recipe:
  • Image: Digital Image from Squigglefly.com Purrfectvalentine1
  • Sentiment: My own printed from my printer
  • Paper: Scraps (gotta use up that scrap pile!)
  • Other: Colored Pencils, Nestabilites Oval and Scallop Oval

Thinking of You Valentine

Here's a card I did for one of the Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenges. I just love this stamp, Magnolia's Pink Tilda w/a Heart, she's too cute...I love sitting her on the packages too! I couldn't resist that MME paper again either...this time I teamed it up with some gold metallic paper I've had sitting arounds for ages! This was kind of a "thinking outside the box" color for me, gold... I also edged the pink rectangles with gold metallic ink (although not showing up well in the photos) I'm thinking my mom might be the recipient to this card...anyway, enjoy!

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Magnolia Pink Tilda w/a Heart and Christmas Packages, CTMH sentiment
  • Paper: My Minds Eye Patterned Papers
  • Punch: Martha Stewart Lace, Quickutz Heart
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Antique Photo, Studio G Metallic Gold
  • Other: Heart Pin, Beads, Organza Ribbon

Cards for Kids

As I was blurfing around (blog surfing), I came across a site that was asking for help to make 1,000 valentines for hospitalized children. There are 238 beds and the hospital staff wanted to make sure that each child had more than one valentine so they could exchange them with each other, their families or friends from school. Now if this doesn't sound like a worthy cause, than what does? So I've been a valentine making fool! Wanna get in on the fun? Here's the blog with all the information on it! http://rubbermaid.blogspot.com/2008/12/cards-4-kids-challenge.html So you'll be seeing a lot of quick Valentines from me this year...

Would You "Bee" My Valentine?

I've been a valentine making fool! However, it's for a good cause (and I'll clue you in on that tomorrow). For my "Bee" valentines I did a little hybrid stamping...that is part digital image, part actual stamping. The bee images are from a digital download from All That Scraps called Bear Hugs (see link below)
http://www.allthatscraps.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=360_361_796&zenid=d66faa549f9db322d592bb345523aacc

The wording I did myself on the computer, and used my Nestabilities Labels for the shape. The heart stamp is from Paper Trey Ink Limitless Labels. I colored the bees in with colored pencils. I hope you find them as cute as I do!

Happy Hoppers, Sending you Hugs and Kisses!

As promised, here's something "paper crafty"! I could.NOT.resist this Happy Hoppers Stamp (Love Bunny) when I saw it on Hobby Lobby's shelf...and at 50% off...well, needless to say, it went home with me....it's just too cute! I have a "thing" for cute bunny's anyway, I have a small collection of bunny's...my personal obsession... Anyway, I also did this for the Split Coast Stamper Sketch Challenge #209 and participated in the House Mouse Challenge (this is a House Mouse stamp). I also purchased some new paper by My Minds Eye, and it BLINGS....with all the glitter...which, unfortunately didn't show up to well in my photo...go figure! Anyway, recipe is down below...enjoy!

Recipe:
  • Stamps: House Mouse Happy Hoppers Love Bunny, Hero Arts Sentiment
  • Paper: My Minds Eye
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Black Soot, Vintage Photo
  • Other: Rhinestone Heart Targe $ Spot, Organza Ribbon, Eyelet Lace
