Digital Tuesday: Heart to Heart

Hello! This week on the Digital Tuesday Challenge our challenge is Heart to Heart...use a heart somewhere on your project. Wouldn't this be a perfect time to make a card for someone you really care about? I thought so too!

Our sponsor this week is our very own Digitial Stamp Oasis, who is offering one lucky winner 3 digi images of the winners choice! How cool is that?!

I decided for my card this week to go with this adorable gingerbread image by Whimsie Doodles. (you'll have to forgive the photo, I'm still working on moving in!) I colored my image with my copics, used my nestabilities rectangle to cut it out and then used a paper towel and some ink to "age" my edges (on all the papers shown). I then matted it on my Nestabilties scalloped rectangle and layered that onto my heart. I then had to play with the image and heart placement until I found a happy medium to put my sentiment with my button snowflake. Then I added a couple of rhinestones to pull the whole thing together!

Recipe:
  • Image & Sentiment: Whimsie Doodles
  • Dies: Nestabilties; Rectangle, Rectangluar Scallop, Heart
  • Other: Tim Holtz Antique Photo Ink, Paper Studio Snowflake Button, red rhinestones

Moving Saga

We are in, with the very basic necessities at this point. I haven't gotten my craft room together yet! I can't remember my last "day" off...LOL...and I'm not talking about moving, I'm talking about "working"...it's been very hectic here, I think I have two weekends before we take off to yet another major horse show. So I need to get my fanny in gear!

My brother and his wife (our first guests) stayed here while we were at a horse show as they were passing through on THEIR move...LOL (I've noticed a LOT of people moving lately...not JUST us!). And got some rest...

Tomorrow the satellite people come...K is over the moon about this...he now can have the NFL channel...LOL...

It's Official...We're IN

We finally moved in! Yeah...it's been rather chaotic...K and I are both working in the 60+ hour range (it's our busiest time of the year...figures...doesn't it?)LOL...but end of November it should settle to an easy lull (ha!)... I just hope we get our stuff moved out of the old home BEFORE they pull it away...and I guess I better go move and get off the internet...I wanna move the computer tonight and get it set up! My gateway to the rest of the world...so anyway...just wanted ya'll to know...

WE'RE IN!

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Happy Fall

Now, I'm not sure about where you are, but here in Indiana fall is beginning to make it's appearance, the leaves are turning, the weather is a touch cooler and the farmers are anxious waiting on their crops so they can harvest...it truly is fall in my parts.

This week on the Digital Tuesday Challenge our challenge was LEAVES! I couldn't resist this young gentleman by Mo Manning in his pile of raked leaves. Did you ever do that as a child? One of my favorite memories is a quick trip to Wisconsin where we raked up a bunch of leaves and jumped into them...what fun!

Our sponsor this week is McMahon5Designs who is giving away these fallish images below to our lucky winner this week!
Thanks for joining me today...and for those following we're not in the house "yet"...I'm told "maybe today"...I'm not holding my breath...

Pleasantly,
Paula

Stamptacular Sunday: It's a Sweet Thing!

Hi! I'm so glad you could join me this week for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, this week our challenge was "anything BUT a card". I actually had another project in mind for this but when I saw this adorable girl (CC Designs) and her ice cream cone I just KNEW I had to make an Ice Cream Cone BOX... it's actually a CAKE BOX (I found the template(s) on Split Coast Stampers) and I just added my two scoops (circle nestabilites and then I cut a straight edge and used my Fiskars apron punch)!

I cut my box out and then I ran it carefully through my Cuttlebug and the Swiss Dots Embossing folder...I had to do it a few times, I had to carefully line up my dots, but I'm pretty pleased with the result! I think it would be fun to put little candies in this box...or maybe some sundae toppings...what a sweet little surprise!

I also wanted to remind you that we have a blog prize for a good cause, $275 worth of goodies and you get to help a super nice person, click on the prize picture in the upper right of my blog for all the details...

House update: well, our construction crew didn't show up Thursday OR Friday...so we're a weekend behind, which wouldn't be bad except that my brother is moving across the country and we're his half-way point, so vigilent prayers are being said that I'll have a guest bedroom for him on Thursday when he (his wife and dogs) and the U-Haul show up! What is left is a little drywall sanding, door adjusting and carpet stretching...so.... if you think about it send some good "move in" vibes our way!

Thanks for joining me today...recipe below as usual...

Recipe:

Paper: Martha Stewart
Punches: Circle & Labels 4 Nestabilities, Fiskars Apron Lace

New House!!!!!

Well the day finally arrived and wouldn't you know it, both K and I were unable to watch...they set the house, I did make it home in time to watch them put up the roof...basically they unhinged it with the crane and it's engineered so that the 2X4's fall into place when they lift it up. Below is a picture of 1/2 the roof in place and they are getting ready to pull the 2nd half up with the crane...
Here is the roof while the crane is lifting it...notice the bow in the middle?

And here we are all put together...

...and pssst...my craft room is to the right of the door (closest to our little pear tree). I think the house looks small on the outside but seems HUGE on the inside...LOVE LOVE LOVE my kitchen. They say 7 to 10 days until move in...shhh...don't tell them I've been sticking stuff in the cupboards already...LOL...

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Sketch

As I type this (a few days ahead of schedule...I'll be horse'n around [at a horse show] when this posts) they SHOULD be setting my house today (fingers crossed and small prayers said), so I'm all giddy with excitement and am watching the clock here at work so I can go home and take a peek...it's killing me ya know! LOL...

Anyway, THIS week on the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we have this lovely sketch below...and what a super fun sketch it is! I love all the possibilities this sketch has! I had a hard time just deciding WHAT I was gonna do (and I'm working with LIMITED SUPPLIES ...thankfully this time around...LOL), but after looking through all my image swaps I settled on this adorable Magnolia in her cherry jumper...isn't she just the cutest? And I've had this cherry paper for.evah! I was hoarding it...I'm such a hoarder...and then I have such a hard time actually USING it because gosh, it's soooo pretty...LOL...what if I want to use it later...LOL...I'm so silly sometimes! Anyway, it was the PERFECT accompaniment to my Magnolia that I HAD to use it!
I started my card with my Kraft cardstock base, I really wanted the colors to pop! It took me a long, long time to decide that yes, aqua and cherry red really DO look good together (even thought this color combo has been around awhile, I'm slow to jump on that color train...LOL). I cut my cherry paper out and added the Apron Lace border in red to it. I then cut out my rectangle in red and backed it in aqua and added my Magnolia who I colored in with Copics and cut out, I pop dotted her off her perch slightly. I then stamped and cut out with my nestabilities my sentiment and added my cherry red rhinestones and their stems (actually a Martha Stewart leaf I cut down and placed appropriately). I'm so glad you could join me today, I can't wait to show you my new scrap room....oooohhhhh.... my move in date is getting closer....I'm itching to move here!

Recipe:

  • Image: Magnolia, sentiment from Studio G
  • Paper: Creative Imagination (I think...)
  • Punches/Dies: Nestabilities Label 4, Martha Steart Leaf, Fiskars Apron Lace
  • Other: Copics, Red Rhinestones

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Slap Your Knee Funny!

Hi, thanks for joining me today for Stamptacular's Sunday Challenge, this week our challenge is Slap Your Knee Funny! I decided to go with this lovely young lady in her swim suit...and the sentiment "if you've got it, flaunt it!"...I thought it was funny and cute! I think this would make a GREAT birthday card... I decided this week to go with dots and circles, because as I made this card I kept thinking "itty, bitty, teeny, weenie, yellow, polka dot bikini"...but alas since I'm living out of boxes and am limited in my supplies I had to go pink since I had pink circle paper! LOL... Anyway, I hope it made you grin and for those following our moving saga, there's more about that below...

Yes, we officially have a house now...unfortunately the soonest we'll be in is 15 days... let's see the foundation needs a little finishing, then the CRANE comes to set it on the foundation and then they have to hook everything up and then do carpeting, drywall (fix the cracks) and the siding on the ends... so the thing in the plastic bubble wrap below is the house, next to the barn, next to the old Mobile! We've been able to "tour" the front half (in between the buildings), but the back 1/2 is tightly wrapped and I don't want to break the seal in case of foul weather before they can get it set...sooo...I'm anxious and keep peering through the windows... anyway, there's a small update...thanks for all the well wishes!

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Lace and Pearls

I'm getting this up a day late and I KNOW it's a day late...I ended up with food poisoning yesterday and spent 24 hours in an unhappy place that doesn't need revisited! LOL... Anyway, the GOOD thing...I lost 5 lbs... wow! whew! oy! I'm still a touch green, but I should be good to go in a day or so.... And wouldn't you know it, while I'm down they deliver the house, our house...so I didn't even get to see them pull it in...sigh...of course they only delivered 1/2...the other 1/2 is supposed to show up today...fingers crossed...so far it looks fab!

Well let's get onto this weeks card for the Digital Tuesday Challenge shall we? I used another image by Mo Manning...this ones a freebee if you join her group on the Papercraft Planet. Anyway our theme this week is Lace and Pearls. I used my Martha Stewart Arches punch for my lace and the pearls are on my sentiment which says "Love and Joy come to you". I'm thinking this would be a great holiday card. I colored my image in with Copics and added some blue highlights to my sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said who is offering a $10 gift certificate to our winner!
