Digital Tuesday Challenge #30 - A Color Challenge

This week on the Digital Tuesday Challenge we have a color challenge, Orange, Kraft and a color of your choice...and it doesn't necessarily need to be a fall card either! Our sponsor this week is Digital Stamp Oasis!

For my card this week I went with this owl that was a Dustin Pike freebie! I colored my owl in with Copics and cut him out. I layered my chocolate, kraft and orange dp and then I stitched the orange dp. I added some ribbon and added my sentiment with some bling (gotta have the bling!). Thanks for looking and be sure to scan down a post or two...I put some FREEBIES for Halloween a few days ago that I'm sure you'll love!

Digital Tuesday Challenge and WOW what a week!

Well it's certainly been a CRAZY week...K and I have been at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio since last Thursday, I'm only home for a brief bit because I had to testify in court for someone...and I go back to the Quarter Horse Congress today. Now this horse show is THE horse show of horse shows...the largest single breed horse show in the WORLD...and it's fun, it's exhausting (how much fun do you think it is riding a horse at 2 a.m.? YAWN...LOL...we do this EVERY NIGHT...it's the ONLY time there isn't a class in the arena that we can practice...ugh!) and it's expensive ($7 for a breakfast biscuit is IN.SANE!), but the clients love it and as a trainer you HAVE to show up and the shopping is outstanding...it's a MUST BE AT event... What I love about it is that we get to see all of our friends from all over the country for over 2 weeks in the same place...so there's some socializing too...the horse world is actually VERY small and close knit (which has it's ups and downs LOL).

On top of all of that I sold my grey horse Boo (boo hoo!), it's a bittersweet sale as he's part of the family, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to him, but he's going to a great home in Ontario, Canada! I told Boo he's going to go International...I don't think he cares...LOL... The little girl that bought him adores him and rides him just like he needs to be...perfect home...I'm just gonna miss him...so, good home, but bittersweet for me...I HATE saying good-bye!

Ok, now you've read through all of this, let's get onto the card for the Digital Tuesday Challenge and this week is THINGS WITH WINGS! Now how FUN is that...you can do anything as long as it has wings. Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs and our winner will get to pick 4 of their images...you really need to look at their website...they are SASSY and I LOVE it!

Now onto my card, I decided this week to choose a fairy from the Pink Cat Studio line, I think she's soo cute and was such fun to color! I colored her in with my Copics and then did a little stickling on her antenne and wings... My flowers are daisy's from the Martha Stewart line, but I added the pink centers with my Copics and then added my yellow Stickles to the centers (I also stickled each scallop that my fairy is layered on). I hope you enjoy her this week! Thanks for looking!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Spooktacular!

This week on the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge the challenge is to make a Spooktacular project (err...something Halloween related)... Be sure to play this week...we've got AWESOME prizes...our first prize is from 5 images from Digital Stamp Oasis, as some of you know, Digital Stamp Oasis is near and dear to my heart, I just love the adorable squirrels, such cuteness! Please go take a look around at Digital Stamp Oasis' store, the images are just too cute!
Our 2nd prize this week is a $25 credit to Simon Says Stamp!... With BOTH of the great prizes, why wouldn't you want to join us this week?

Now onto my card...I got my pre-order of Magnolia's in yesterday and couldn't wait to use this cute little witchy! I decided to use my colored pencils and gamsol on her...I'm still a bit afraid of my black Copic and have yet to master coloring BLACK (I know...who'da thunk shading BLACK would be difficult, right? LOL). I decided I enjoyed my pink/black color combo from earlier this week I would do a repeat... I know she almost looks like she's purple, but really it's hot pink that matches the moon. Speaking of my moon, I cut it out using my Nestabilities Circle and stickled the swirls on it...I then added my bat from Making Memories to keep with my Spooky Halloween! Well thanks for joining me today, recipe is below!

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Sentiment by CC Designs, Magnolia Spooky
  • Ink: Memento
  • Paper: The Paper Studio
  • Nestabilities: Labels 4, Circle
  • Other: Stickles, Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Bat by Making Memories, Ribbon, Pop Dots, Rhinestones

STAMPTACULAR OCTOBER BONUS FUN DAY!

Below is my favorite stamp (for now)...actually I'm pretty much a HUGE fan of all the Magnolia stamps, I can't get over their adorableness. Did you know WHY Magnolia's have no mouth? It's because they speak from their hearts....ahhhhh (isn't that cuuuuute?)...... so now that you've found my favorite stamp, go back to my original blog hop post and leave me a comment telling me what you think about my favorite stamp...remember...don't put the date in or the stamp...you'll email that to Priscilla separately (don't want to give away the answer to the other blog hoppers, now do you? I didn't think so! )

THE NEXT BLOG YOU NEED TO HOP TO IS LIZA'S! HAPPY HOPPING!

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Boo!

Digital Tuesday Challenge...BOO! This week our challenge is to make a Halloween card, so I decided to go a little unconventional and use PINK and BLACK as my color combo this week! I thought this would be a fun touch to make Halloween just a little "girly" (big grin!)

Our sponsor this week is Dustin Pike one lucky winner will win 3 images...be sure to visit his blog...he has lots of freebies!

Now onto my card, I used images from Sassy Studios Designs...super fun and great phrases! I printed my sentiment "When Witches go riding and Black Cats are seen the Moon laughs and Whispers 'tis near Halloween!" and then I used my Martha Stewart GOO punch on the bottom edge...I then cut out my skull with my circle punch and put (now get this...) CHRISTMAS bulbs behind it and tied them off with organza ribbon. I finished my card with rhinestones for the Skull eyes and the bottom of my sentiment...this card really sparkles when it hits the light...too bad it didn't show up in the photograph. Thanks for joining me today! Recipe below..

When I'm busy...I'm BUSY...LOL

...I know I've been doing the bare minimum in blog-dom here lately...it's my "busy" season and toss a move in on top of that and well I'm pulling out my hair (almost bald by now!)...LOL...

We are officially "moved", but not officially "unpacked"...I have boxes lining my living room and a sofa I know we have, but haven't seen in a few days...now toss on our biggest horse show of the year (the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio...it is the biggest single breed show in the world...typically a couple thousand entries), which we embark on tomorrow for about 2 weeks and I'm a little stressed! LOL...

Anyway, November looks better as I hopefully will be unpacked and we'll be home...and things will get back to "normal"..finally! LOL...thanks for hanging in here with me and thanks for all the comments...I read them, I'm just limited on my computer time, so I don't get to recipricate, but be assured I DO READ Them!

Stamptacular Sunday: Character Counts

Hello, another wonderful week for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge; Character Counts. For this week’s challenge you will create a card or some other project that includes a well known cartoon character on it. It doesn't have to be stamped, but be sure to stamp somewhere on your project!

Our prize this week is donated by Your Next Stamp, below is a picture of this weeks prize...so cute!

I decided to use Snoopy here as my character for this weeks challenge. I decided to do a simple card (for me) this week...the colors were inspired by my dotted paper (pet stack by DCWV). I didn't actually color Snoopy at all and just sponged in the sky and grass...easy peasy! Then I layered...this card came together quickly (which is good because I this point my scraproom wasn't even CLOSE to being together) Thanks for joining me today...recipe is below...

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Snoopy, Studio G (sentiment and envelope)
  • Punch: EK Success
  • Other: Sponge, Tim Holtz Ink Pads, Organza Ribbon, twine

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Music to My Ears

Our challenge this week from the Digital Tuesday Challenge is : Music to My Ears and our sponsor this week is The Little Yellow Company and since they sponsored us this week, I decided to use one of their "singer" images, Elvis!

Now my brother is an Elvis nut, so much so, that he and his wife were even MARRIED by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas, my mom couldn't figure out whether to laugh or cry (her baby was getting married), but Elvis had us in stitches! Quickest wedding I've ever been to! LOL... It ended WAAAAY too soon!

ANYWAY, I colored my image in with Copics and layered it on several layers of paper and then I decided my card wasn't complete without one of Elvis' belts (and some BLING!). I have lots of rhinestones and silver heat set type of stars (I used to make horse show clothing so I have lots of "blingy" leftovers, but if you want to purchase some, check Michaels clothing rhinestone aisles, I've seen them there before)

I'm so glad you could join me today...Thank you! Thank you Very Much!

Recipe:
  • Image: The Little Yellow Company
  • Paper: Ole King Cole
  • Dies: Nestabilites Buckle Hardware, Fiskars Edge Punch
  • Other: Rhinestones, Silver Stars, Copics, Computer Printed Sentiment

Stamptacular Sunday: You're the Pick of the Patch!

Here's another Stamptacular Sunday Challenge...this week SLIDER Cards! Our prize (shown below) is donated by Emma from Stampin' Up. One lucky individual will get to win this punch, so be sure to participate...now onto my card below...
When I saw that our challenge this week was going to be slider cards, I wanted to make a pumpkin that slides from the stem... I started off with 3 nestabilities circles and layered them to my liking, I then stamped and stickled the vine. I then stamped and colored this cute little fairy by CC Designs, and pop dotted her off my pumpkin...

Next I decided to make my slide, so I stamped my card stock, attached the stem and made a little pocket in back to pull it out of (I just took a piece of cardstock slightly bigger than the pull out and adhered 3 sides so my card had somewhere to stay). It was quick and simple and I love how it turned out! I hope you did too...thanks for joining me today, recipe below, as usual...

Moving saga:
While we're in, we're still moving...I DID get part of my craft room moved this week (yeah!), but now I've got to con dh and my fil to put up my "upper" cabinets that my mom gave me...so they are currently sitting in the middle of my crafty room. I really, really need those cabinets so I can put some stuff away! Ugh! and I can't wait all at the same time...LOL
Recipe:
  • Stamps: CC Designs and Autumn Leaves (swirls)
  • Paper: Martha Stewart
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Black Soot, Martha Stewart
  • Other: Copics, Ribbon, Stickles
