Sunday Switcheroo

Thanks again for joining, yesterday I was the Saturday Spotlight Artist from the Card Sketch a Day blog (be sure to pop over there and read my interview!), today the blog owner, Susan draws a sketch from the cards I have created...and here they are:

This first card I used the Love Birds image from Digital Stamp Oasis (have you been there yet? Fabulous, FABULOUS images...they are all too cute!). I printed this image out on my printer and then colored them in with colored pencils and gamsol (and I used really cheap pencils...those Rosearts from WM). I then cut them out with my Nestabilities Circle and then cut out a Nestabilities Scallop to put them on!
I mounted them on my card sticking about 1/2 off...the card is a square 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" and the part sticking out makes the card 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" so it will fit in a regular A2 envelope! I got this idea originally from Michelle Wooderson and she calls these Table Tent cards (like you'd see at restaurants).
I added ribbon and my sentiment towards the bottom...recipe is below the card, make sure you see all THREE!
Recipe:
  • Stamp: Digitial Stamp Oasis
  • Paper: Paperabilities, SU (cardstock)
  • Dies: Nestabilities Circle and Scallop, EK Success Circle, SU Scallop
  • Other: Ribbon, Brad, Colored Pencils, Gamsol
This card was really fun to make, I made my own dp on this one! I used H & M's Coffee's Brewin' set. I stamped my dp and mounted it (both pieces), then I stamped the coffee cup 3 times onto watercolored paper, colored and then cut out two cups and one of the hearts. I then punched a heart out of water colored paper and colored that also. I added Martha Stewart Lace border and some ribbon and then mounted my large heart and coffee cups. I then stamped my sentiment and cut it out with my Nestabilities Labels 1 die (both sentiment and backing paper), embossed them and then mounted them and pop dotted the small heart.

Recipe:
  • Stamps: H & M Coffee's Brewing
  • Ink: Tim Holtz
  • Paper: Watercolored, Joann's
  • Punches: Nestabilities Label 1, Martha Stewart Lace Border and Heart
  • Other: Ribbon

Here's my last card (again some of my blog followers have seen this one also)...this is actually the first card I made. I added my papers, my lace border and ribbon, stamped my sentiment and floral motif, cut out using Nestaabilites and mounted on the top of the card. I threaded a ribbon through my button holes and added that to the bottom...quick and easy!

Recipe:

  • Stamps: Inkadinkado Heartfelt
  • Ink: Staz On, Martha Stewart
  • Paper: DCWV Nana's Nursery
  • Punch: Martha Stewart Lace Border
  • Dies: Nestabilities Oval and Scalloped Oval
  • Ribbon: American Crafts
  • Button: Unknown

Thank you for joining me again today! I hope you enjoyed the cards as much as I did making them...and see how different one sketch can look!

Rock N' Roll Rockabella

I decided to do the Stamping Bella sketch this week on SCS and since I took advantage of the GREAT H & M stamp sale, I had to break 'em in...even if it was JUST the sentiment! However, it went perfectly with my Rockabella! I've also had this adorable skull paper since Halloween (now who'da thunk skulls could be cute?) and wanted to make Halloween cards with it, but never found just the right mojo for it...UNtil now.... I colored my Bella with colored pencils, and added some Stickles to her guitar and cord, I then cut her out with my Nestabilities rectangular die and embossed her. I added little bits of ribbon and heart brads by Queen & Co. Then I added my sentiment and bent it just a little so it kind of raised off the page. Rock ON! The recipe is below..

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Rockabella by Stamping Bella, Sentiment by H & M
  • Paper: The Paper Studio
  • Ink: Staz On
  • Other: Rectangular Nestabilities, Heart Brads by Queen & Co, Ribbon from Hobby Lobby
