Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Spooktacular!

Now onto my card...I got my pre-order of Magnolia's in yesterday and couldn't wait to use this cute little witchy! I decided to use my colored pencils and gamsol on her...I'm still a bit afraid of my black Copic and have yet to master coloring BLACK (I know...who'da thunk shading BLACK would be difficult, right? LOL). I decided I enjoyed my pink/black color combo from earlier this week I would do a repeat... I know she almost looks like she's purple, but really it's hot pink that matches the moon. Speaking of my moon, I cut it out using my Nestabilities Circle and stickled the swirls on it...I then added my bat from Making Memories to keep with my Spooky Halloween! Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Pink, Green and Brown

This week at the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge our challenge is Pink, Green and Brown. I kind of stretched this just a "hair"...since my only brown IS Tilda's hair...LOL...but I think it still qualifies!

I decided to make this cute little note card this week with DIGI PAPER from Bearly Mine Designs. I just love the fact that I had my choice and I could use this paper as often as I wanted with just a click of the mouse! I can't tell you how many times I have used up a "fav" paper or wanted "just a little bit more" and didn't have it...with digi paper there are no worries... just print it off!

My entire card is actually centered around my floral pins...I found them in a quilt shop while shopping for mothers day (my MIL is an awesome quilter!). Once I saw those I knew I had to have those! AND of course, I had to bling them up a bit with rhinestones! Anyway, I hope you enjoy...recipe is below as well as more photos...thanks for dropping by today!

Super quick post today, need to get out to the barn...the farrier's gonna be here at any moment! Sketch by Mojo Monday Challenge #77, Colors Pink, Green, Brown is the Pink Elephant Challenge. I feel like this card is missing something, but can't quite put my finger on it... I did play with my Copics again, need to figure out the cheek part on Tilda, but am happy with the rest of it...I like the boldness of the markers...I've been needing my characters a little darker than I could achieve with my colored pencils. Card Sketch A Day; Hello There

I have one of the featured cards on Card Sketch a Day blog today. Sometimes inspiration strikes you when you least expect it. I was given this sketch and I thought AND THOUGHT about it...and then the idea brick hit me (in the ER of ALL places a few weeks ago, no, not for me!)...with a HUGE thud... and off I was creating...
I decided to use Tilda from Magnolia for this sketch...and I decided to go with a spring time theme, because, this time of year, we are ready for some warm weather! I used blue and green (springy colors) and added some butterflies to give this a nice spring time feeling. I used some pop-dots to give Tilda and the Butterflies some dimension. I also added some stickles to both to give it a little "bling" factor. The flowery paper from DCWV really lent the springy edge I was looking for. Cupcake Craft Challenge #25 & Mojo Monday

Is anyone else FREEEEZZZZZING? Brrr! It was one of THOSE days yesterday, when it was bone chilling cold...the kind of cold you can't seem to warm up from! It's not necessarily a record breaking day as far the thermometer goes (I think our high was in the teens) but the dampness...brrrrrr......right to the bone!

Well, since it was cold and I was cold, I decided to do a card with some springtime (and warmer) flavor to it. This week on the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog was a color challenge (see below for a picture of the colors), the colors are pretty in pink, perfect plum, pale plum and whisper white...don't those sound like springtime colors? This week the CCC blog is also picking two people to be guest designers...how cool is that? So this is my entry... I used this weeks sketch from the Mojo Monday blog for my card...
I just love Magnolia's Tilda, she is just so sweet! She's an absolute blast to color also, I have the best time with her hair! Today she' s a blonde with purple ribbons in her hair (don't you wish you could change your hair color with just a stroke of a pencil or pen? I sure do...LOL)! This is a pretty straight forward card for me, I stickled the flower a little and all the butterflies and I actually stuck one butterfly on the flower itself with a glue dot. I used a lot of pop dots on this card, it's a dimensional card...keep scrolling down to see an angled view. Recipe is at the bottom. Thanks for looking!

I'm having a GREAT stamping day....

...first off, I WON the KL Stamping and Scrapping challenge over at Paper Craft Planet with my Happy Hearts Day Tilda, what did I win? Well I won a Tilda w/a Candle stamp...I'm SOOOOOO EXCITED!

THEN I wandered over to Paper Craft Planet's Photo's...and my OTHER Tilda Card is a FEATURED PHOTO...OMG! Am I having a GREAT stamping Day or WHAT?!!!!!

I did stamp today, I made about a dozen of the Tree Full of Love Valentines for the Cards for Kids program...to date, she has over 3,500 Valentines...her goal was 1,000! WOW!

Think I'll be going to bed on Cloud 9 tonight...

Pleated Flower Valentine

Does anyone know how 1" of snow turns into 6+"? We were predicted 1"...I now have over 6" sitting on my porch...I'm still scratching my head on that one! Kevin has been on the bobcat all morning trying to dig us out so we can operate...it's funny how 6" of snow will slow us down to a crawl...and now the FUN part...when it melts...which is all good and fine unless you are riding a horse in the indoor arena and the snow slides down the roof...the horses don't care for it that much and since they are fright and flight creatures, that leaves me grabbing for leather/mane, whatever I can get my hands on when they are in the midst of "Flight"...because if I'M not careful, I'll be flying OFF of them ... LOL... such is the nature of MY job!

ANYWAY, below is card...looks kind of familiar doesn't it? This was actually for the Paper Craft Planet Sketch Challenge AND the Cute Card Thursday Challenge (which was to make a Valentine)...and I wanted another go with Tilda sitting in an open heart, but with RED instead... This is a large card, it measures 5" X 7"...and it's HEAVY, I think I might have to put a penny weight on the back to keep it from falling forward...I have SEVEN buttons on the front making it a little tipsy... I enjoyed paper pleating so much yesterday I wanted to try a pleated flower...(for a tutorial go here), and after a couple of tries I got one done the size I wanted it. I then put my sentiment tag over the top of it. I added seven buttons below Tilda and put heart stickers over the holes. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Card Sketch a Day...2 Cards

Here are two cards I made for the Card Sketch a Day blog awhile ago... same sketch, two different cards.
My first card is a wedding card I did for a relative to give, I used a REALLY old SU wedding set, stamped the couple and sentiment in metallic gold ink. I then cut and embossed the couple with my Nestabilites Label 1 die and punched out the flower, added some detail and a rhinestone (there's that bling again!) and put it all on an embossed background from my Cuttlebug Embossing Swiss Dots folder. Keep scrolling down, I've got LOTS of cards today (and they are mostly Magnolia!)

Here's my 2nd card for the Card Sketch a Day blog. This is Tilda with a Muffin and I've put her on some yummy DCWV Sweet Shoppe paper (don't they go hand in hand? Tilda and her muffin/cupcake and the cupcake paper?) And of course I had to put some pink in there... I added some lace with my Martha Stewart lace punch and the sentiment is from a Studio G set. Tilda Holding a Flower, Magnolia vs. Stampavie Challenge

Two Posts, ONE Day...dying of shock aren't ya? This card is for the Magnolia vs. Stampavie Challenge (remember to scroll down after this post, I've got ANOTHER Magnolia card!). The challenge this week is BIG BOWS...and let's face facts...I'm BOW challenged...I have a really hard time tying them...really...I'm NOT kidding...LOL...so I kind of cheated and did a KNOT for my bow on this card. I really love this ribbon though...it was just the right shade it's organza (my fav...so yummy!). I put the ribbon on top of my lace and added a heart pin and a tag. I also added some pearls to this card. I used the Magnolia image, Tilda Holding a Flower, colored her in with colored pencils (and Michelle, I outlined her this time in Khaki...not blue...can you tell?), I placed her on the prettiest blue K & Co paper, I just love how feminine this paper is! I also ran my newly re-discovered piercing tool around the outside of the card. Recipe is below:

Happy Hearts Day Tilda

I did the Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenge AND KL Stampin N Scrappin Girls this week, I just love these challenges, so much fun!
I used my Tilda with a Pink Heart and colored her in with colored pencils and then cut her out. I sat her on a Silouhette Heart that I cut out using my Cricut George cartridge. I raised both the heart and Tilda with pop dots.
For the scalloped heart with the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment, punched out the heart and then cut out 3 small scallop oval nestabilites and pieced it together, I aged it (along with the rest of the card) with Tim Holtz Antique Photo, added a Prima flower, a K & Co. heart sticker and two colors of organza ribbon (gold and pink). Thinking of You Valentine

Here's a card I did for one of the Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenges. I just love this stamp, Magnolia's Pink Tilda w/a Heart, she's too cute...I love sitting her on the packages too! I couldn't resist that MME paper again either...this time I teamed it up with some gold metallic paper I've had sitting arounds for ages! This was kind of a "thinking outside the box" color for me, gold... I also edged the pink rectangles with gold metallic ink (although not showing up well in the photos) I'm thinking my mom might be the recipient to this card...anyway, enjoy!

Can you tell I'm loving Tilda? I just think she is sooooo adorable, I just can't get enough of her! I needed to make a card for an upcoming birthday and just knew she'd fit the bill! I also have been dieing to use my Sweet Shoppe pad from DCWV, it has the cutest cupcake and candy patterns in it and though it would be a GREAT background for this card. The recipe is below, enjoy!

In Style Stamps Contest

For my entry I inked up one or two of my new Magnolia stamps, I just love little Tilda, she's sooooo adorable! She's sitting on top of her packages just wanting to show you her love! To give her a little dimension I used a pop dot so she stands out just a bit. I decided that we needed a little greenery, so I added some branches in the top left corner using Martha Stewarts branch punch and I put two different types of glitter on them, my first glitter layer is a fine dust and then I went for a chunkier layer of mica glitter, but only sparingly (which turns out was more than enough! :) )

The sentiment (May your Christmas glow with Love) I have had for years and years and NEVER INKED UP! I just ran across it the other day, it's a Close To My Heart sentiment and below is a fleurish from Studio G, I added a few rhinestones to the fleurish for a little bling.
