Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Scallopmania!

Well for those of you following, the house is coming along quickly...surprisingly so! They pulled the mobile out and the next day were working on the foundation...monday they will lay the brick for the crawl space...the house will actually arrive on Friday, but I'm unsure as to when we will be able to move in...so we may get to stare at it for awhile...but still it's exciting and I can't wait to see it...

Onto today's challenge from Stamptacular Sunday...our challenge is SCALLOPS... currently I'm working out of boxes, so I'm limited in supplies, so I did what I could, with what I have on hand. Super simple card, it was fun to make though...and a nice break for the rest of the hectic days surrounding me! :)

Our sponsor this week is: Hobby Compleet "De Duif" and they are giving away a Fallish Magnolia stamp...what fun!

Thanks for looking!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: 3-D

This week on the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, the Challenge is 3-D, in any way or any form...so I decided to go 3-D with my pumpkin here! The inspiration came from my own garden this year, I've tried for 4 years (unsuccessfully) to grow pumpkins and one disaster after another, I never got them grown until THIS year...and unfortunately I put them next to our mobile home (before I found out we were getting a modular) and THIS year I had an EXCELLENT pumpkin crop...which I had to remove YESTERDAY (so we can move current home to put new one in), but I did get some really beautiful pumpkins out of there first...really BIG ones, I'm talking your $15 pumpkins...BIG ones...LOL

Anyway, since I had pumpkins on the brain I decided to do a pumpkin card... let's discuss the pumpkin itself...it's made of 6 circle punchies, I folded in half and glued to each other...now this will work with any other die or punch as long as it's the same on BOTH sides (for example, a star YES, a vine or an animal probably NOT)
The text paper I created with Word and just repeated Fall Blessings and Happy Harvest and cut that out with my Nestabilities.
Our sponsor this week is our very own Nikki with a fabulous Stampin Up prize for our winner (i have the same stamp set and love love love it!)
Thanks for joining me today!

New home share

I know many of our relatives wanted a sneak peek as to what our new home is going to look like, so I "borrowed" the stock pictures and here's what we have. I didn't realize until I JUST looked at the picture that we chose the same outside colors on our home (wanted to match the barn) as the one in the photo is...and I like it...so good for us :)
Here's the picture of the kitchen...we went with black appliances to go with our stainless steal referigerator (it's a scratch n dent model...love it!) The only thing we didn't get is the backsplash on the counters...Here's the floorplan (click on the picture for a better view), although we had to have it reversed so that we can enter the utility room on the opposite end...the model we went into was the floorplan as drawn, and I've seen OUR floorplan, now I just have to get my brain to ADJUST to the floorplan as we'll have it! LOL...

Anyway, our move out date is Monday and we're crashing with Kevin's grandparents (also our neighbors) for a few weeks...not sure what kind of internet connection I'm going to have...so bear with me for a bit while I try to get things sorted out! Thanks for looking...have a great weekend!

Digital Tuesday Challenge: Masculine

This week on the Digital Tuesday Challenge our challenge was masculine cards. I decided to go with another image by Mo Manning (and psst, she's moved her etsy store...here's her blog so you can "read all about it!").

Our sponsor this week is Cutting Cafe who generously donated shapes to each of the DT members. Did you know that each of the Cutting Cafe files can be hand OR machine cut? I don't have the program to machine cut, but hand cut I did...and it was uber easy! Be sure to check them out...lots of wonderful card shapes! They are also donating this week's prize...3 images of the winners choice...ya gotta like that!

Anyway, onto my card, I colored my image in with Copics (and added the grass with a few flicks of my pens) and then I sponged the outside with ink to make it not so stark white, then cut out with my circle nestabilities. I then took a strip of black paper and made several small cuts into to make my "fringe" and added my tag (which is actually a recycled clothing tag, just flipped over) and added my fringe and tied it all together. I then cut out my frames for my actual card and assembled everything, easy peasy! Thanks for joining me today!

Well Whoops, I've been horrible with dates on my blog here lately...gosh...lots going on ... and I've been so proud of myself getting stuff done and then I blow the dates...so sorry...everyone!

So WHAT'S been going on...well I can announce the BIG one...

...we're moving...albeit probably 2 feet, but we're moving... we've been approved and we're putting in a modular home where the mobile home (single wide) now sits...so I've been packing... we lose the current home August 24th...and our move in date (say many prayers...) is the end of September...it is unclear WHERE we will stay for those few weeks in between, but we'll get it figured out... and we are over the moon!

...then the horse business is taking off...so we're putting in some ot at the family business, working most weekends and late evenings...and I got a part time job...so can we say...umm...BIZ...ZEEE??? LOL

So everything is good, just in.sane... so all I can say is whoops, I got the dates wrong...I'll try to do better...LOL... and I've got to get that notebook set up so I can take it to the horse shows with us so I can better stay on top of it...

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, 3-2-1

This week on the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, our challenge is 3-2-1, 3 Brads, 2 Designer Papers, 1 Flower. Our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe!

I've been craving to use my new Magnolia Summer Stamps and I'm so please with how Tilda turned out (wouldn't she be great for Valentine's Day as well?). I have her sitting on a Nestabilities Heart and added some ribbon with a little bow. Not seen really well, is the stickles on the flower Tilda is holding. I then added my LARGE flower...it's a silk flower with a Fiesta Felt flower in the middle and added my tag and clothes pin (sorry I don't remember where I got the clothes pin...Hobby Lobby maybe?). Anyway, thanks for joining me...I'm away at a horse show this weekend, and I've got to get there, so this weeks post is short...I'll update with the recipe upon my return! Thanks for visiting!

Ever forget WHAT day it is? Ummm, yeah I forgot today is TUESDAY! My project all loaded ready to blog and I totally forgot today was TUESDAY...whoops! Well, better late than never right?!

Our challenge this week at the Digital TUESDAY Challenge is BLING! And since we're getting close to Back to School time I thought I'd make this adorable backpack/luggage tag for school. The image is by My Graphico who is our sponsor this week.

I made my little tag using BADGE covers I got at Wal-Mart, I got 12 of them for like $2...sooo easy and I attached it with a key ring I bought in the kids craft area. Not much to explain here today...so recipe is below and thanks for looking!

Recipe:
  • Stamp: My Graphico
  • Paper: The Paper Studio
  • Nestabilities: Labels 1

Happy Fall with Digital Stamp Oasis

I don't know where you live, but here in Indiana the weather has been very reminiscent of fall... we've been steady in the high 70's and low 80's which reminds me of October rather than August, so it got me in the fall mood...
I decided that Susie Squirrel (by Digital Stamp Oasis) with her acorn would be perfect for a fallish card, so I colored her with Copics and cut her out. I made the large acorn with my Nestabilities Oval and Labels 1. I decided to emboss the top of the nut and tie a ribbon on it...and on the inside ... I put my sentiment... see below...
I also MADE my acorn paper with Paper Trey Ink Limitless Labels...so it's not perfect, but it was fun to do. Thanks for joining me today, recipe is below:

Recipe:
  • Stamps: Susie Squirrel by Digital Stamp Oasis, Acorn and sentiment by Paper Trey Ink Limitless Labels
  • Paper: Joann's
  • Nestabilities: Oval and Labels 1
  • Ink: Tim Holtz Antique Photo and Scattered Straw
  • Other: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug and Grograin Ribbon

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: Child's Play

This week the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is CHILD's Play (make something for a child). Our sponsor this week is The Paper Makeup Stamp Company with some of their adorable stamps, be sure to check them out!

With all the school supplies going on sale around here, I couldn't resist purchasing a box of crayons! So I decided to recover a crayola box (inside AND out, I took it apart traced around it and then adhered everything back together) with one of my new images from Pink Cat Studio...the name of the set is Kiki Kitty and you get lots and lots of kitties for your $$$! I kept my design and layers simple knowing that it would get a bit of handling from a child, but thought this dressed up that simple crayon box wonderfully...I also covered my crayons...my wrappers measure 1 1/2" X 3"...computer ADDRESS LABELS also work wonderfully for this, but since I'm in the middle of packing mine are MIA somewhere...LOL, so I did the next best thing...I covered them in paper...I thought this would also work out wonderfully for a household of 2+ children who fight over the crayons (I remember doing that with my siblings..not wanting to share, but not sure which crayon was mine! LOL), this would be a great solution, with personalized crayons they would always know!

Also remember Stamptacular Sunday also is having a DT call right now, so if you are intersted be sure to see either the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge blog or scroll down to the next day's post here to see all the details!

Thanks for joining me today, below is the recipe:

Recipe:

  • Stamp: The Pink Cat Studio, Kiki Kitty
  • Paper: The Paper Studio
  • Nestabilities: Circle
  • Punch: Fiskars Apron Lace
  • Other: Copics, Ribbon, Stickles

Dustin Pike, New Release

There are TWO blog posts today, please scroll down to see the 2nd one...

Dustin Pike has new releases...some more Christmas images, isn't this puppy sooo cute? It reminds my dh of "his" dog Hank at Christmas when he was a puppy (I use the term "his" loosely because Hank was MY birthday present, but Hank worships dh...that's ok, because "his" gift, Ruby, worships me...it all works out...LOL)

Now onto the card, I cuttlebug embossed the red background, I colored my image with Copics and cut it and the mat out using my Nestabilities Circle and Labels 3. I then added red rhinestones and chipboard snowflake with heart...I added stickles and rhinestones and a touch of ribbon...easy peasy and oh so cute..

Did you remember to grab your freebie Wednesday...if you're a dragon lover you gonna adore it!

Thanks for joining me today and be sure to take a peek at the other post ...
